What I have heard from many of you, is that you struggle with balancing the time between marketing your coaching and service-based online business and actual work with the clients.

I totally get it because I feel the same. Marketing my business, especially on social media, takes a huge amount of my time and energy that I would prefer to spend on designing new websites and sales pages.

After trying many different strategies last year, I decided to focus on building SEO for my Squarespace website through blog, podcast From 0 to 25k and YouTube channel and it works! I have +163% increase in website traffic. How I did it?

First of all, you need to have a website that reflects your personality and expertise, collects visitors’ emails, is SEO optimized and designed to convert and sell. This is your foundation.

By SEO optimized website I mean, it loads quickly on desktop and mobile, it has a clear structure that is easy to be indexed by Google, it contains the right keywords, it has all valid links to name just a few things.

By a website designed to convert, I mean a website that is easy to navigate, provide all the necessary elements and information your potential clients are looking for and more.

4-Step Website Selling Formula

Step 1. Drive traffic to your Squarespace website.

The more people will visit your website, the more bookings you will get. The average conversion rate is 1-2% so if only 100 people visit your website per month you have no chance that anyone will book.

If 1000 people visit your website per month, 10 to 20 people can actually book with you!

Ok, so how to drive traffic to your website? SEO friendly content on your website (blog, podcast description), backlinks (when other reputable websites links to your website, i.e. guest blogs or guest podcasts) and freebie (lead magnet), when you give a free, valuable information in exchange for their email address.

What I love about this 4-step website selling strategy that you can measure everything and clearly see what’s working and what’s not.

Simple keep an eye on your website stats like number of visits to your website per month and the source of traffic. You may find this stats in your Squarespace Website dashboard under analytics.

Once people are on your website and your website is strategically designed you have a chance to get your clients right away. But as I mentioned before most of people (98%) will need more time to make a decision to work with you, what leads to step 2.

 

Step 2. Collect email addresses from your website visitors.

Why you need an email address of your visitors? To connect with them through email, educate about your services and simply gain their trust so they can book with you in a few weeks.

To collect email addresses, you need to put the sign-up form to your freebie right in front of them as a pop-up or on the top of your homepage. They cannot miss it.

 

Step 3. Nurture your connections (leads) through email

Send them useful information that help them solve their problems and achieve their goals, one step at a time and make an offer to work with you. To save time, you may re-purpose your content from blogs or podcast.

 

Step 4. Send your connections back to your website

Make an offer to work with you and send your connections back to your website to make a purchase.

 

Simple? Yes, and it’s based on attracting people, not chasing them.

Please note it’s not the fastest strategy in the world but is sustainable and it works!
